White Burgundy: L. Tramier et Fils

Founded in 1842 by Louis Tramier, the company has shown its ability to take the rough periods and the smooth. During this time the same family has always run the company, as one generation followed in the founder’s name. Each generation has enriched the estate with prestigious family vineyards, such as Musigny, Clos de Vougeot and others. Today the wines are still elaborated in the original winery which looks over the Mercurey vineyards, and the vats and barrels are stocked in their own cellars. Built in 1830, these are the only cellars in Mercurey that are entirely tunneled in the rock; this ensures constant temperatures which in turn means excellent maturing conditions for every vintage. These advantages, coupled with the traditional know-how passed on from father to son, have allowed L. Tramier et Fils to patiently acquire a great amount of experience in wine maturing and bottling. They respect the time-honored techniques of the past, while applying the benefits of the latest advances in oenology and technology.
